The NBA trade deadline altered the landscape of the league and certainly changed the outlook for a few teams. How they perform going forward remains to be seen, but I can see the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns getting targeted by folks looking to turn a winning parlay card. And there’s a good chance the Brooklyn Nets get a lot of action, though a majority of it for all the wrong reasons. The beautiful thing about the NBA this season is the parity with so many teams still hunting for a playoff spot.
We had a nice last week on our Wednesday NBA parlay picks with four of the five wagers hitting the winning side. We even double dipped with the Blazers, who covered the line and cashed the OVER in their win over Golden State. This week we’ll target the 10 games on the NBA schedule for Wednesday, Feb. 15 to see where we can make money on a parlay card. And as a reminder all bets on a single ticket need to win in order to cash out. Now, on with the show, and remember you can bet NBA parlays at BookMaker.eu with odds for every game on the Wednesday schedule.
Philadelphia 76ers
There is life after LeBron in Cleveland. The Cavs aren’t going anywhere and have proven to be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference this season. They improved to 37-22 with a win over the Bulls on Saturday, their sixth straight triumph and payout. The teams ahead of them in the East – Boston, Milwaukee and Philadelphia – get most of the attention, but the Cavs have a solid nucleus that was brought together with the addition of Donovan Mitchell during the offseason. While this sounds like an ad for the Cavs, it really isn’t. A lot of their damage has come against teams below .500 and at home. That doesn’t bode well for Wednesday’s matchup in Philadelphia. The Sixers enter the week just a game up in the standings and they won’t take the Cavs lightly after getting blown out, 113-85, in Cleveland back in November. The Sixers are 21-8 at home this season with payouts in 64.3 percent of their games.
NBA Parlay Pick: 76ers ML
Memphis Grizzlies
After a scintillating start to the season the Utah Jazz have cooled off considerably and dropped out of the top 10 in the West by losing four of five following Sunday’s 126-120 setback to the Knicks. They conclude a four-game road trip in six nights when they visit the Grizzlies on Wednesday. That’s a scenario that should get the Griz excited. The teams have played some explosive games in the past with the home team enjoying most of the success. And with the Jazz reeling we’re likely to see Ja Morant and his mates go off against a Jazz club that thinks defense is a suggestion. I’m going to double dip on this game much like I did last week with a win in Portland. Memphis is strong at home going 23-5 and catching the Jazz at the end of a condensed road trip has me backing the Griz against the line. Both teams can score the basketball and the OVER has cashed in 10 of the previous 11 encounters.
NBA Parlay Pick: Grizzlies ATS / OVER
Miami Heat
The Heat have put a nice run together to jump into one of the top six spots in the East. The defending regular season conference champs have the second-best scoring defense in the NBA taking on a Brooklyn club that just traded away two of its most significant scorers. The Heat have one of the better interior defenders in Bam Adebayo and a top perimeter defender in Jimmy Butler. They both play as well on that end of the floor as they do on offense leading to the Heat conceding just over 108 points per game. And failing to score on a consistent basis means the defense has to be extra good. The Heat ranks among the bottom five in scoring, field goal percentage and three-point percentage basically forcing them to stop opponents in order to stay in games. The strategy has worked with the Heat going 32-25 through their first 57 games.
NBA Parlay Pick: UNDER
Oklahoma City Thunder
Winning two straight and three of four lifted the Thunder into the top-10. And if they want to stay there beating the Rockets on Wednesday is imperative. OKC has gotten top-notch performances from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. That’s also allowed the Thunder to earn a lot of payouts this season. And before they climb higher in the West standings this would be a good time to back them. OKC will be giving points when the line surfaces and they’ve done extremely well against the spread with the best cover rate in the NBA at 63 percent. The Rockets are ripe for the picking and I’ll back the home team minus the points.
