Get amped up for some more great college football betting action by taking a look at some of the more notable facts and figures for the Week 3 NCAA football betting odds.
The Numbers:
0: The number of games Duke has been favored by at least two touchdowns in against out of conference games since betting lines became widely available in the 1990s. The Blue Devils could change all of that against Baylor on Saturday after opening at -14. Baylor was -33.5 in its first game of the year and was -12.5 in its second. Now? No one wants to touch what might be the most poisonous program in America.
17: The number of teams that are favored on the road this weekend. That’s a massive amount of games to really keep a close eye on. Home underdogs this time of year tend to bark pretty loud, especially in these early-season conference games when the oddsmakers aren’t always all that sure just what they have to work with in terms of who the top dogs really are in each conference.
38.5: The number of points Penn State is favored by over Georgia State, making it the biggest favorite of the entire weekend. Georgia State has only played in one game this season, that being the dud of an opener against Tennessee State when it was grossly overmatched on its home field. With as good as the Nittany Lions have looked, it’s no wonder they’re such heavy favorites in what should be their easiest game of the season.
74.5: The number of points Fresno State has opened up as an underdog by in the last two games combined. There won’t be many times in the history of college football that you’ll find a team play against two teams that played in the College Football Playoff the year prior in successive weeks. That’s what the Bulldogs are doing, though. They stuck in front of the six-touchdown spread against Alabama and now have a shot to do the same against a nearly five-touchdown line versus Washington.
