Get amped up for some more great college football betting action by taking a look at some of the more notable facts and figures for the Week 2 NCAA football betting odds.
By The Numbers
3: The number of games that opened up at a pick ’em this weekend. In all three cases, we’ve already seen some relatively modest line movement. Houston has gotten to -2 at Arizona, Rice is up to -1.5 at UTSA, and Northwestern is -3 against Duke. Let’s remember that all three of the line movements have been in favor of the road teams.
3.5: The number of points the Florida State/Louisiana Monroe line dropped in the first three hours of betting lines being open. The Seminoles started as 35-point favorites against the Warhawks and quickly dropped to +31.5 after word broke that freshman James Blackman was going to be replacing the injured Deondre Francois for the rest of the season.
4: The number of points that Purdue and Rutgers are favored by over Ohio and Eastern Michigan respectively. The MAC could be set to deliver some huge blows to the Big Ten this weekend, and these are the two games that are definitely on the road the most.
6: The number of points Illinois is a dog by at home against Western Kentucky. It’s not just the MAC schools that are clearly right on par with the bottom-feeders of the Big Ten. Conference USA is right there, too. Lovie Smith was lucky to escape last week against Ball State. If all of the early line movement in favor of the Hilltoppers is suggesting anything, he won’t be so fortunate this week.
13: The number of teams that are favored on the road this week. The biggest of the bunch is Oklahoma State, which is set at -24.5 against South Alabama. Of the 13 favorites, the Pokes (-24.5 at South Alabama), South Florida (-17 at UConn) and Miami (-11.5 at Arkansas State) are the only ones favored by double-digits.
41.5: The number of points Alabama is favored by over Fresno State, making it the biggest favorite of the entire weekend. Think the Bulldogs are going to be in for some culture shock? They won 66-0 last week over Incarnate Word. After winning by nine touchdowns last week, they’ll be lucky to stick within six touchdowns this week in Tuscaloosa.
