Unlike the NBA schedule for Saturday, February 25 that features fewer than half the teams in the league playing, the college hoops docket is loaded with the first games tipping off at Noon eastern and games out west getting underway at 10:30 p.m. on the East Coast. It’s basically a smorgasbord for college basketball enthusiasts and bettors. It also gives us plenty to work with when playing a college basketball parlay. After going 2-1 on my picks last week it’s time to get the games right this weekend.
If you like to wager on high profile teams there are plenty of them on Saturday with 21 of the AP top 25 in action and several games pitting ranked teams against each other. It doesn’t get any better than the top 10 matchup in the Big 12 between No. 8 Texas and No. 9 Baylor. The Longhorns are tied with Kansas atop the league standings and beat the Bears a few weeks ago, 76-71, getting the payout as a 4-point favorite. There’s also a showdown for first place in the West Coast Conference with No. 12 Gonzaga hosting No. 15 Saint Mary’s in the final regular season game. The Gaels upset the Zags in OT earlier this month and enter the week with a one game lead. You can bet college basketball parlays at Bookmaker.eu with odds for every game on the Saturday schedule.
Saturday College Basketball Parlay Picks
Texas Longhorns at Baylor Bears
Well, I talked myself into making a wager on this game. To give you an idea of how strong the Big 12 is this season, all but one of the 10 teams has an overall winning record, four squads have reached the 20-win plateau and six of them are nationally ranked. Every game in the conference is a grind and it’s hard for clubs to sweep a season series. With that said, I really like Baylor in this matchup. The Bears have won five straight Big 12 games at home and their two losses were by a combined three points to Kansas State and TCU, two of the other teams also nationally ranked. The Bears just play better at home and they weren’t far off in a 5-point loss in Austin a few weeks ago. Homecourt advantage makes up the difference putting Baylor as an outright winner on my parlay card.
Parlay Pick: Baylor ML
Saint Mary’s Gaels at Gonzaga Bulldogs
The Zags have two conference losses this season and they made up for the first one by blasting LMU 108-65 in the rematch. I don’t expect this game to get that far out of hand but I do like Gonzaga exacting some revenge ahead of what’s sure to be another meeting in the WCC Tournament final. The Zags won four straight after falling to Saint Mary’s on Feb. 4 with the offense back in a groove. They scored at least 88 points in all four games averaging 98 points while cashing the OVER in five consecutive games. Gonzaga leads the nation in scoring (87.5) and field goal percentage (52.5) giving me confidence to not only back them against the spread but to also wager the OVER.
Parlay Pick: Gonzaga ATS / OVER
Boise State Broncos at San Jose State Spartans
I’m dipping my toes in the San Jose State water again after the Spartans not only covered the game I backed them in a few weeks, they won the thing outright as a 6-point dog against Utah State. I won’t touch them on the road but get them in their gym and things are much different. Fans of SJSU haven’t had much to cheer about over the last few decades but this year’s team is 16-12 overall and in the middle of the pack in a tough Mountain West Conference. They bolstered their record and stats at home going 11-4 with one of the best cover percentages in the country at 66.7. Omari Moore is a POY candidate averaging 16.9 points, 4.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds while playing 36 minutes a night. Despite their road woes the Spartans nearly upset Boise State when the clubs met in early January falling 67-64 covering the 10-point spread.
Parlay Pick: San Jose State ATS
